Composer, session musician, conductor, Philippe Jakko is an award-winning composer based in the UK. He has created music for ballet, theatre, film and has had two number 1 singles in the French and European pop charts.
International award winner (Best feature film score at Festival du film en Famille de Québec / Canada 2017 + Best Tv Score at Jerry Goldsmith Awards 2015) , Nominated several times for best score at Festival fiction TV La Rochelle 2013, Sounds+Music Awards London 2014. Jerry Goldsmith Awards 2017 ; Philippe has scored films for directors Valérie Donzelli , Michel Boujenah, Charles Berling or Dominik Burns.
He attended in France Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique , graduating in musicology, harmony and counterpoint before studying at leading music research centre, IRCAM/Paris. His first credits were as ballet composer (Accrorap Company) before being approached to score feature films in France and the UK. He has also worked as a composer for popular French TV channel TF1 and record labels Universal, Sony music, Warner.
Because of his ability to vary his palette of styles and bringing the audience to the core of the story, he worked on classic scores as on pop, rock or electronic projects and soundtracks. Philippe has a remarkable ear for stunning and catchy melodies and is able to help directors realise their creative vision.
